A Feed Is a Choice
Three posts, one top slot, and a surprisingly important definition of “better.”
PLAYABLE DEMO / 6 MINUTES
You’re the editor of a fictional feed. Choose what it rewards.
There’s no perfect score. There are six decisions, and consequences.
Checking saved progress…
Your fictional feed has room for one lead story. Choose your starting signal.
You are editing an invented feed with a limited number of slots. Make six decisions about what to reward. Each choice has a deliberately simplified effect on attention, trust and diversity. Read its consequence before moving on; there is no hidden correct route.
At the end, compare your decision history with the priorities you meant to serve. Identify one decision you would keep and one you would revisit. A high metric is not a prediction of real behavior or a judgment about your personality. Replay with a different brief rather than trying to discover a perfect score.
The coefficients, scores and endings are authored for this game. They do not implement, reverse-engineer or evaluate YouTube, TikTok or any other real recommender. Real systems, audiences and consequences are substantially more complex. The linked YouTube explainer is the platform’s own account, included for comparison, not validation of our model.

First in a list is an answer to a sorting rule, not the end of your investigation.
